She’s like the Pet Sematary version of Zooey Deschanel.

I can be surprisingly funny before 8am.
Two days ago I vowed to eat nothing but salads (well, atleast MORE salads and less “bad” things).
I just ate a waffle (covered in syrup and butter), 2 pieces of sausage, and am currently working on a massive to-go cup of grits with cheese from Waffle House.
Eff you, salads. I can’t eat right AND exercise. It’s one or the other. I pick pushups.
My youngest sister , Sidney, stayed the night with me last night, which always results in a good time. When she got there, I was working on a song - I’ve been having a little trouble with the lyrics, but it’s almost done…I think. I figured I’d employ her 8yr old, lacking in any musical instruction (not that I have any at all, either), capabilities…just for kicks....
Recipe for a good night:
- (2) Springtime-wear purchases from Target
- (1.5) hours of iChat with a Canadian
- (60) seconds of phone time with my dad (enough for an ‘I love you’)
- (20) min run (at a faster pace than usual)
- (1) shooting star during 20 min run
Stir ingredients in large mixing bowl. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Place in oven and bake...
welcome to Tennessee
One of my male coworkers brought a shotgun…no, two shotguns, actually…to work to show another coworker - IN the office. Dear Lord. Only in the south is this allowed (although I’m certain this is completely against all company policy ever made). To complete the sheer stupidity of it all, he DROPPED one of them. I never knew office work was so life-threatening.

Maisy Stella is THE most quotable 5yr old in the universe. Seriously. She was playing a mandolin in the studio Sunday morning for Marylynne and myself when she decides it isn’t a good color for her. Maisy stops playing and says in all seriousness, “I don’t think this looks good with my blonde hair, mom. Can you dye my hair brown?” ML and I just looked at each other and...
lucky is an understatement
Another weekend with the Stella’s - it felt like 2wks all wrapped into 2 days. I apparently have no concept of time when I’m with them. I didn’t see the kids as much this weekend - there wasn’t nearly as much ‘work’ going on and they spent a lot of time with a couple of other families in Nashville. It was nice, though. We all got to go out both Friday and...
I keep remembering funny things the kids said. While Marylynne, Lennon, Maisy, and I were sitting in the car waiting for Brad to get a few groceries, Lennon decides to inform me that her favorite word in the whole wide world is….URINE. I died a little when she said that. I told her if she wasn’t my favorite kid in the world already, she definitely was now. Marylynne and I then...
Sunday morning, I got up with the Stella kiddos and let Brad and ML sleep for awhile longer. The three of us were sitting in the sunroom area of the studio when I noticed Maisy, who was sitting in my lap, staring intently into my eyes. Her little forehead wrinkled up, and she asked me to open my eyes reaaaallllyyy wide - as wide as I could, even. She looked a little harder then came out with the...
air mattress in a studio
What a good weekend it was. Although I’m extremely grateful for my job, I wish I were still in Nashville. I spent the weekend with the Stella’s at the studio - all of us sleeping on air mattresses…and I absolutely loved it. They are wonderful, wonderful people, and their children are incredible. I drove over Friday night after work, and we just hung around, catching up - it had...
Ha this made me grinny grin! I didn’t expect to see myself on a Tuesday to do list. I love you, Lar! There’s a good chance I’ll be coming to Murfreesboro on Wednesday (and an even better chance if you tell me I’ll see you there). We’ll talk.
laaraa:
*clean my room yet again.
*fold some laundry.
*write a song or two.
*call deanna back (sorry dre! i meant to do...
